We grant the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.
“Words are not enough to express our gratitude for this wonderful experience. When the wish day came the anticipation was great, we were picked up in a beautiful white stretch limo to which there was lots of screeching! Once we arrived at the stadium, Kim from Make-A-Wish was there to greet us and help us find our way through the crowds at the concert.
This was Alexis’ first concert (so now the bar is set pretty high for any future concerts!) The highlight of the whole experience, and believe me there are many, is when Taylor came down the aisle during the concert, spotted Alexis and stopped to give her a hug. It was a surreal moment and brought Alexis and I to tears!
Last year when Alexis was going in for her surgery, I told her to close her eyes and think about her wish. When we had tough days in the hospital and during recovery we were able to tell Alexis to think about her wish. Although Alexis is good right now we have spent the last 8 years back and forth in the hospital and to doctor appointments. In Kindergarten and grade one Alexis could not always keep up and was often too tired or sick. As a family you just carry on and most of the time you don’t give it a second thought but through this experience we were reminded by family and friends that Alexis has endured a lot over the years and that she deserved this wish. We are all so grateful.
Thank you to Taylor Swift for being so generous with her time to actually grant children their wish; it was a moment that will never be forgotten.”
